Amused, Ambushed

Support Into the Void by reading this piece in a beautiful print edition of Issue 14 that’ll look great on your bookshelf.

I shed myself twice a year.
I’m as big as I want to be.
Homemade weirdo.
This summer, bleached
eyebrows and a final
acknowledgment of my body.
The mirror gulps cartoonishly.
I am a sleepless animator,
doing magic in my cells.
I have a face the dentist
can’t help but touch.
Wearing my umbilical cord
as a necklace to prove
what I already knew.
I was born to be here.
